Aaron Ramsdale moves to Arsenal in the summer of 2021 and opens a new chapter in his career.
Arteta praises Ramsdale
Aaron Ramsdale joined Arsenal in the summer of 2021 for a transfer fee of 28 million euros. Although he did not have a foothold at first, later, with his own efforts and the opportunity given to him by coach Mikel Arteta, he became the number 1 choice in the wooden frame. The elder Bernd Leno had to grind his crotch on the bench until the match against Aston Villa at the end of March (because of Ramsdale’s injury).
Recently, when sharing with FourFourTwo, Ramsdale revealed an important factor that made him decide to join The Gunners: “Honestly, it wasn’t coach Mikel Arteta but it was Bukayo [Saka].
Ramsdale is asserting his worth in the Arsenal wooden frame.
I heard rumors that Arsenal were interested in me while with England at EURO 2020. And Bukayo mentioned that he and the Arsenal owner talked about me.
With the transfer window moving fast, I went back to Sheffield United and spoke to the Team Leader. They told me the team would be fine and that I would need a year to get a regular starting position at Arsenal. They’re great and we can talk about everything openly.”
Up to the present time of the 2021/22 season, Ramsdale has started 29 matches in all competitions and conceded 25 goals.
