Former player Noel Whelan has made remarkable comments around the young talent on the Arsenal payroll.

The time of the winter transfer market is approaching, and with Arsenal, there are a series of stars rumored to leave Emirates right in this transfer window. Typically the case of Eddie Nketiah, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

In the view of Noel Whelan, with an impressive performance in the recent great victory over Sunderland, Nketiah has placed himself on the TTCN market. Whelan thinks it’s time for Nketiah to leave the Emirates to build a career.

Talking to Football Insider, the former Leeds player shared:

“Eddie Nketiah is already in the transfer market. He’s proven to be a goal-scoring machine in cup games like this, even if he doesn’t get too many Premier League appearances.”

“I think it’s time for him to leave Arsenal and try to get a first-team start somewhere else. And I think Eddie realizes that.”

“Whether it’s pre-signing in the January transfer window or a move in the summer – those are the times.”

“Eddie could easily sign a new contract at Arsenal and sit on the bench, raking in huge sums of money in the process. But, I think Eddie wants to step out there and make his career – let’s not forget that He’s still young.”
