Goals from Neymar and Kylian Mbappe kept Paris Saint-Germain top of the Ligue 1 table with a 3-0 win at Toulouse on Wednesday.

The defending champions of Christophe Galtier have never been seriously threatened by newly promoted rivals and are ahead of Lens and Marseille on goal difference.

The dreaded trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Mbappe have now scored 18 goals between them this term.

“MMN”? We can only be satisfied with their performance,” said PSG coach Galtier.

Toulouse let PSG down early in the game, with goalkeeper Maxime Dupe making two smart saves from Mbappe and Messi’s shot.

But the visitors took the lead in the 37th minute, when Neymar took the lead over Messi’s pass and shot into the bottom corner of the goal.

The Brazilian’s ninth goal of the season was initially ruled out for offside, but that decision was overturned after a lengthy VAR review.

It didn’t take long for PSG to score again at half-time, as Messi broke through in the box before passing the ball to Mbappe to slam down Dupe’s foot.

The capital side eased later in the second half, with Neymar and Messi both being substituted.

Summer signing Hugo Ekitike almost got his first goal for the club, but was denied by Dupe, who ended the game with 10 saves.

But he was defeated again in the 90th minute when Juan Bernat fired a left-footed shot into the top corner of the goal.

Lens, who also has 13 points from five games, continued his fine start with a 5-2 thrashing of Lorient at home to move up to second place above Marseille in terms of goals scored.

Florian Sotoca scored his first goal since opening weekend hat-trick against Brest with a brace, while Wesley Said, Salis Abdul Samed and Lois Openda also scored.

Marseille remained level on points with the top two when Senegal midfielder Pape Gueye scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Clermont.

They could be in second place, but Alexis Sanchez missed a late penalty.

Nice finally secured their first win of the campaign when Nicolas Pepe scored the winning goal in his second game since joining Arsenal on loan.
